We are a young couple (at least in spirit) with three kids, two males, Manuel and Eduardo, aged 15 (currently living abroad) and 13, and a 10 year old girl, Elisa.
Our three kids attend the Deutsche Schule in Madrid and although we are open to Spanish students we appreciate the culture sharing experience of having an international student or young professional living with us.
We have been renting a spare room we had in our home for many years. We have recently moved to a bigger apartment, fully renovated, in which we also have a room for rent, with its own bathroom, a small kitchen, plenty of storage room and two windows with nice views.

Our guest will have access to the rest of the house and may share a piece of our life, if interested. My wife and I are dynamic young professionals and, although we run a very tight schedule, we try to stay involved in new things. We enjoy sports and travelling very much. In any case, our favourite activity is to spend time together and hang out with our kids. In any case, we will by all means respect our guest's privacy.
Our flat is bright, spacious and simply decorated (work in progress; we just moved in) and has a small community garden, including a swimming pool, which our guest may also enjoy.
The house is located in Puerta de Hierro which is a nice residential area inside Madrid’s metropolitan area. It is a convenient location, since it is close enough to the city’s downtown but quiet enough for a relaxed living in such a bustling city as Madrid. It is very well communicated by bus to Universidad Complutense. A bus that stops very close to our house takes you there in about 15 minutes. There are many other buses at our doorstep that take you downtown.
In short, we provide a healthy, easygoing and fun environment for our guests.
Our ideal guest would be a very respectful and well behaved kids-friendly student or young professional who appreciates a family environment and who is also interested in a cultural exchange. We already have a lot of experience hosting students.
Besides payment, there are two truly important things we expect from our guests: first, a very respectful behaviour; that means respecting house rules, keeping his/her room perfectly in order (always) and giving a helping hand if needed. Second, a positive attitude; my wife and I work extremely hard and go through quite some stress to maintain a certain living standard and our home is our shelter against all of this hussle. We do our best to have a positive and optimistic feeling at home and we want to keep it that way.
If interested and not still in Madrid, we can have a skype conversation to see how we all feel. We can also share contact details of previous tenants so interested people can have an independent opinion of what living with us is like. Eventually, we will be asking for half a month's rent for reserving our place which will be reduced from the first month's rent.
We ask for a one month deposit and our guest may leave unopposed and with no cost if he/she desires to. We don't want anybody not feeling 100% at ease. We will also be asking our guest to leave if things don't run smoothly (neither things has ever happened).
